Anything Goes

"Nothing in the world is permanent, and we're foolish when we ask anything to last, but surely we're still more foolish not to take delight in it while we have it. If change is of the essence of existence one would have thought it only sensible to make it the premise of our philosophy."
-W. Somerset Maugham, The Razor's Edge

Two more days. Here we go.

Ladakh bound.  The reality of the situation escapes me and I feel as though I have spent my final weeks in London in an anesthetized state.  Somehow I have managed to bid my farewells and ensure that I've packed enough socks but despite my guilt in not staying present I've experienced a disconcerting remoteness from the here and now. In any case, I take comfort in knowing that this too will pass and that great change lies ahead in every sense of the word.

So when internet connection allows I hope to share as many morsels of my experience as I can, if anything to ease the worries of those who view this journey as being a Slumdog Temple of Doom.  Just for the record, I know a thing or two about cults and nothing about game shows so I'm pretty sure I'm in the clear...
